ArLA Village

A Space for the parents, parents-to-be, and caregivers in our community

About ArLA Village

ArLA Village was created with one simple belief: we are not meant to raise children alone.

As humans, we are wired for community. Parenting has never been designed to happen in isolation — it has always taken a village. For many of us living in Australia, far from the countries and families we grew up with, that sense of “village” can feel distant.

For migrant mothers and caregivers, the journey can feel even more complex — navigating a new culture, language, professional identity and motherhood at the same time. ArLA Village exists to create a space of connection, understanding and mutual support among Latina architects and designers who are also parents or carers.

This is a space to feel seen, supported and inspired.

What this community offers

A Safe & Supportive Space

A respectful and confidential environment where you can share openly — the wins, the challenges, the messy middle — without judgement. We foster empathy, cultural understanding and solidarity.

Shared Wisdom & Practical Advice

Exchange experiences around parenting, pregnancy, work-life balance, visas, returning to work, childcare in Australia, and navigating the architecture industry as a mother. Real stories. Real advice. Real support.

Meaningful Connections

Build friendships and professional relationships with other Latina architects and creatives who understand your journey. Because networking as a parent looks different — and here, both your career and your family life are valued.
